Mall

I went to the mall today and my sister and I had a great amount of fun. We found a secret part of the mall. It was cool. I bought socks, a Dickies tote, and some blue glitter for my Halloween costume.

Business

Well more orchestra business going on (viola section) there was a long conv outside with the most experienced musicians (first cello, first first violin) which I believe was about viola seating (INVOLVES ME). Meh. I hate drama. Well I hate this kind of drama. We went to CVS with Dad after dinner tonight I bought Sweet Tea and some other stuff. I'm getting a flu shot tomorrow.

Trip

The orchestra is going to Chicago for our trip. I got measured for my performance dress today during Applied Music by the first violinist.

We saw Zombie Land today at the Muvico this afternoon. It was pretty good. It was the perfect length for a movie (i get bored easily). Yeah.

I just got back from Maggiano's where I went for a friend's birthday party.

Stressful Viola

Today was not a good day for the orchestra, especially the violas.
So the 2nd violist who is a junior was removed from the school. She didn't know til last night and we didnt know til today. The director was upset, the private teachers were upset, the violas were...definitely stressed. I am 3rd chair now. First viola says I am his prodigy now and he wants me to be 2nd chair.
I don't really have a problem with that except having to play the bottom part AGAIN and turning pages.

Tired

Im pretty tired. My bus never picked me up this morning so Dad drove me and we left at 8:15 and we got lost I didn't get to school til like 9:20 and 1st Period starts at 8:30.....but it was okay in the end.

Glee

Glee is like my new favorite show. Yah.

We are back home from Philly. We had a good time. We went to Ardmore Station Cafe, Peddlers Village, our friends house, KING OF PRUSSIA MALL!, Auspicious, and we visited a neighbor and her 13 month old baby girl. It was all awesome.

New Music

Tonight after dinner Dad took me to Music and Arts to get more music. I got Wolfahrt Book 1 and Suzuki 4. I looked at all kinds of other music, but I didn't get anything else. We asked a private viola teacher who was there what she thought about shoulder rests, and she confirmed that the kind I wanted was the best kind, and then she told us to go to Gailes Violin Shop because she "never buys anything or gets anything" at Music and Arts.

I really hate having to write on my blog everyday. I just have nothing to say.

Audition

I had an audition this evening. I don't think I made it but I'm not that upset.

Starbucks

I like frappucinos.

Uniform

I got more uniform stuff today. I got a skirt, and two polos. One red polo and one black. I had to try on many different sizes to find ones, and then they didnt have the right sizes......anyway, we went to Target before the Uniform store, and thats where I got the skirt. I also had a caramel Frap and then we went to the uniform store, and then we went to a Peruvian chicken restaraunt for lunch.

Challenges

So challenges in orchestra is when the conductor asks if you want to challenge, and you say yes and you play a selection, and then the person in the next chair higher plays and if you are better than them you get their seat. I got the seat of the girl next to me. I don't want to talk about it.
Then it was the 3rd second violinist and the 2nd second violinist and they each played a few selections and then the conductor said "Jordan and Erica, will you please step outside" and he, Jordan (first cello) and Erica (first violin) went outside and talked it over and they came back in and they were asked to play another selection. Then they went back outside and talked some more and then they came back and the conductor said that for now the seating would stay the same and he would listen to them again in one month.

There was a creeper texting me and my friend and i told my friend not to talk to them, i told him it would be bad but he didn't listen to me!

My Buddy Mozart

Mozart wrote 41 symphonies in his lifetime. 39 were in Major keys, 2 were in minor keys. The minor symphonies were both in G minor. He wrote number 25 in G minor after his mother died, when he was a teenager, which is why it is in a minor key. He wrote 10 sonatas for violin.

Birthday

It is my brothers birthday today. After school I went to J's for a viola lesson and then we went out for dinner at the Nautilus. Our waiter was not good at all and the food wasn't great. I have a great big amount of my Napoleon left over though.....

Labor Day

Happy Labor Day! I went to the Labor Day Festival today, and saw a bunch of people from my old school. It was awesome. But then it was raining and we had to use someones jacket for an umbrella. I saw a WHOLE BUNCH of people i know. It was awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Strange

Let me tell about how I am feeling. I feel tired, and very un hungry. No food appetizes me. I have a bad headache. For dinner I had a bite or two of chicken, and a bit of broccoli and a leaf of lettuce. I feel like I need to run around for hours and hours, even days, I have so much energy. I can barely keep my fingers from going crazy across the keyboard. I can hardly think straight. I feel rather numb.

Sayings

Yesterday my orchestra director said to the violas "Your vibrato must be more intense, you must be like babysitter who shake baby too hard and baby die(makes baby shaking motion)".
Wow.
And today he said we must be more elegant, but still have energy, because we were "being like bulldog whose slobber gets everywhere....and the music becomes slimy".

My high school is starting to feel normal to me. But I don't like A Days because I have all the classes I don't like that day. Except applied music and orchestra.

One Week

I have made it through one week at my new school! Ive made a bunch of friends, connected with some of my old ones, and with some who go to a different school! Orchestra is good....challenging.

Great

Today was great. A very well known young cellist (well known in our county) came by to visit his old school (my school) during my orchestra class. I don't particularly like one of my teachers but I won't say who.

Schedule

I got my schedule today! Yay! Of course, I got it halfway through the day so I only had health class, applied music, and orchestra. I am a bit worried that I will have a bunch of work to make up..... but i think ill be fine.

First Day

So today was my first day of high school. It doesn't seem like i missed anything yesterday. yesterday seems like a long time ago. Anyway, my day was okay. The morning was boring, lunch was weird, and the afternoon was fun. In the morning all we did was go to the annex and wait and wait and wait for schedules, which we didn't get. Lunch was very very very loud. In the afternoon, I spoke with the VPA program director, who sent me to a great orchestra class. it was 4 other violists, 2 cellos, and 1 violinist. Then there was a 10 minute break and then there was a long class with about 20 musicians. I am a bit worried about my schedule, and how many classes i have been missing from not having a schedule, but other than that i feel pretty good.

I missed the first day of school today because my bus didnt pick me up. I feel very out of the loop.

Grandma

Grandma is coming to visit today and having dinner with us and staying overnight.

Finale

This morning was our last show :( it started at 1 but we had to be there by 11:30. I think it was over and we were out by like 2:30. Im sad that its over but i think ill be back next year. Everyone wants a dance show.

Dress Rehearsal

Today was the dress rehearsal for our show. Tomorrow is opening night!!!!! I screamed again in practice today and everyone said it was quite good and scary. It was scary when right after i had finished screaming and started my small monologue, this scary looking guy came out from downstage left, and he looked like a cross between Gandalf, and the mysterious man, but with a very good wig. But he was very tall so i thought it was the girl playing the mysterious man, but with a good wig, on stilts. He scared everyone there but it turned out he was Mariahs dad.

Off

We had to be off script by today. I was. I even screamed well at the right time. We did choreography for the last numbers today. My feet really hurt.

Church

Today we went to church and it was a potluck and now I don't feel good cuz i was spinning around.

Sleeeeep

I actually slept for almost 12 hours last night. Amazingly, Im still tired.

I should be working on my lines because we have to be off script by Monday, but I don't feel like it right now.

Today was a really bad day. Someone took my iPod, which my dad gave to me as a gift, and my wallet, which had a significant amount of money on it. Opening night is a week from yesterday.

Costumes Cont'd

Well we all got to see our costumes today. Mine was UGLY. It was salmon pink, and long and loose and long sleeves and then short poofy green ish brown sleeves that were short over that. Then there was a very beautiful white apron to go with it. First they saw me in just the dress, then the dress and the apron, and then just the apron on over my street clothes. The dress was pretty bad, but it looked worse with the apron over it. They said they would look for something better, they didn't want to have to take me out of rehearsal to pin it and stuff. The apron looked good over the white dress i was wearing.

Costumes

Dr. T says that they went to the costumer yesterday, and they will start bringing costumes in tomorrow. The first show is a week from tomorrow and we have already blocked all the scenes.

Phone

Yay!!!! I got a phone!!!! Also, Musical Theater Camp started!!!!!!! Today after camp Greg and I rode on the metro and then Mom picked us up and we went to Suitland and I got my ID picture taken.

Swedish Fish, Kickball, Pupusas

Yesterday evening we went to a new Rita's by our house, and I had the Swedish Fish ice. It was very good. I reallllly liked it. Then I went to kickball with Kolbe's friends. It wasn't very fun. Then today after church we went with Greg's godfather to the Native American museum. We looked at a few exhibits and Kolbe and I started some songs. We had lunch at the food court there, which was pretty good. I had pupusas, chile fries, chocolate milk, and key lime pie.

Uniform

Today I got some uniform clothes. I still need uniform polos with the school logo, but mom will take me to get them later. My legs hurt and I am tired.

Demo Day

Today was demo day. It was good. I am realllly tired now. The dance we did was really tiring, and I was sweating afterward. We had fun with PhotoBooth during our break.

Hiccups

I have the hiccups right now, which is unusual for me. As a musician I have special breathing exercises to get rid of them.

This week I have been practicing Habanera (Bizet), an Irish Reel, a Minuet, a Bouree, and Caprices 2,3,4,15 (Paganini).

High School

Im having mixed feelings about high school. I want to go, but I don't want to go. I would like new friends, but im scared I won't be able to make any. I think I do want to go.

St. James Day

Today was St. James Day. We just got back. It was very good. I don't feel very well now. They ran out of drinks fairly quickly. I helped out in the nursery with a baby named Margaret. Stephen looked like he needed a hug. His baby Peter may get better soon. The prognosis is good. His wife got out of the hospital last night.

Bleu

Well. Yesterday after camp ended, Me, Kolbe, and Devonte got on the blue line and then switched to the green line and went to Hyattsville, where I met Lu, and we went to her house. Then we went to the pool a bit later. I stayed over night. We watched Father of the Bride 2. It was pretty good. This morning Mom picked me up at 7:30, and we went home. I got to spend a little time with Grandma and Grandpa before they left. This morning Dad took me and Greg to the beach. Kolbe is at Flora's, she had a sleepover too. The beach was really fun. I am reading "someone Like You" by Sarah Dessen. It is very good. She is a good author (Lu agrees).

Helping Out

I helped out an old lady from church after camp today. My duties included helping her up stairs, making beds, looking for a cat named Boris, and scrubbing aforementioned cat's vomit off of carpets. I achieved my assisting the elderly badge!!!! (lol jk)

It was actually kind of fun. It kept me from being busy and hanging around CHAW all afternoon.

Black Eye???

So this morning I woke up and my eye was stuck shut. Now its turning into a black eye. Im really confused....I don't know whats going on!!!

Appalachia

Now CHAW is into Camp Appallachia, and my position was moved, so now i work with slightly older kids than i used to.

Harry Potter/Otakon

Today we saw the new Harry Potter movie. It was okay. a bit boring in the middle. It was really long, like 3 hours. Kolbe brought Flo and Alaphia, and Greg brought Michael and Clara. I didn't bring anyone, cuz there wasn't enough room in the car.

And yesterday when we were in Baltimore to go to the Book Thing, we drove past Otakon and it was really cool.
